Cabo San Lucas Timeshare Salesmen

Cabo San Lucas Time Share Salesman

Things to Avoid

Read this article if you don’t want to get caught by timeshare sales men who are hiding behind every rock and tree in Baja; because when you least expect it they will jump out at you starting from the second you arrive at the airport and thereafter from information booths, hotel lobbys, restaurants to crawling out from under a scorpion’s rock.

They will offer you FREE scuba diving, tours, ATV rides, money, fishing trips, and their ex-mother in law for you to attend a 4 hour lecture where they will attempt to hi-jack your entire day until you purchase.
Behind the scenes they will use phrases such as, “buy or cry”, or “break ‘em, bag ‘ em and box em.”
Keep walking away (at least 4 times) from the price and they will come running after you and the price will drop dramatically. They are told to “sell at any price”, so what could start out as a $40,000 time share could come down to $12,000.

Remember the one thing a decent time share salesman will not tell you is that you may cancel your time share purchase within 3 days of your purchase. This is Mexican law. Forget this tiny bit of info at your own peril.

How to Identify a Timeshare Guy

1. They drive Harleys without helmets
2. Most are single, divorced males
3. They are of the pushy persuasion
4. They are “super, cool, nice guys” as long as your plastic is close by.

Even with these tips, you’ll get home and say “what the ph… did we just do….what was I thinking? … Well I suppose I’m allowed one mistake in my life.”

ps. while in Cabo pick up a FREE copy of the Gringo Gazette, where you will find ads for time share resales, from people who have made the same mistake that you could potentially make …or not. These resales are for up to 70% less than what the original purchaser paid.

Cabo San Lucas

You have probably heard of Cabo San Lucas or “Cabo” as it is typically called. Cabo is situated at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula, just over 1,000 miles from San Diego. Cabo San Lucas is located in Los Cabos, meaning the Capes. Los Cabos is comprised of Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and the East Cape.

When most people refer to Los Cabos they are talking about the 2 towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and the 20 mile oceanfront Corridor that joins them.

A little bit of history….

Cabo San Lucas is an intriguing combination of modern tourist luxuries mixed with Old World Mexican charm.

First found in 1534 by Spanish explorers looking for the fabled island of Queen Calafia, Los Cabos and Cabo San Lucas have had an interesting history as a Manila Galeon trade route provisioning point, a hideout for privateers and one of the first California mission settlements.

Today however Cabo is a hideout for those seeking relaxation, fun and sun and outdoor adventures in a safe, friendly, gorgeous and warm environment.

For many years Los Cabos was an outpost with a few fishing and ranching families and nothing else. There was no road from the north and it wasn’t until the 1940s that US WWII pilots spottted large schools of billfish in the Sea of Cortes. Soon Hollywood superstars like John Wayne and Bing Crosby were flying down in private planes to fish and hunt at a couple of exclusive hideaway resorts.

The playground for a privileged few and a smattering of hardy adventurers reamined an insider’s secrete until 1974 when a 2 lane road was opened between Tijuana and Cabo San Lucas. Within a short period of time Cabo San Lucas became known as the “billfish capital of the world” by fishermen and “the world’s aquarium” by Jacques Cousteau. Today Los Cabos is home to the world’s richest sportfishing tournament as well as the golf course and spa capital of Latin America.

One of the first images that comes to mind when Cabo is mentioned is the world famous arch. The arch is a breathtaking natural wonder made of stone that marks the end of the Baja California Peninsula.
